Three Good Things

Three Good Things is a daily practice of writing down three things that went well that day, along with a short note on why each one happened.

How it works

The "why" is not optional — it is what shifts the practice from listing to noticing your own part in what went well. Small entries are correct; the practice is not looking for highlights. It is among the most studied of the short positive-psychology exercises and among the easiest to sustain, because five minutes is a real amount of time.
