You can delete your ManoYatra account from the app’s settings. The published privacy policy says the request starts an automated hard-delete process.

The shortest path to delete a ManoYatra account

Open ManoYatra, go to Profile or Account Settings, choose Delete Account, review the confirmation screen, and submit the request. The ManoYatra privacy policy also says you can email care@manoyatra.com if the in-app route does not work.

Before confirming, decide whether you need a copy of anything you created. Account deletion is intended to be permanent. A screenshot of the confirmation can help you keep a simple record of when you submitted the request.

Use this sequence:

  1. Open the app while signed in to the account you want removed.
  2. Go to Profile or Account Settings.
  3. Select Delete Account.
  4. Read the confirmation carefully.
  5. Save any information you want to keep.
  6. Confirm the request.
  7. Keep the confirmation screen or email until the process is complete.

The ManoYatra app review explains the broader product and its limits. This guide stays focused on deletion and privacy controls.

What the published policy says happens next

Account deletion means an erasure request for the account and associated data. ManoYatra’s published policy says the request triggers an automated hard-delete sequence covering permanent logs, conversation histories, self-check-ins, database entries, and profile bindings in active server storage.

Measured — ManoYatra Privacy Policy, read 22 August 2026: the policy states an erasure horizon of 30 days after a confirmed deletion command. It also says temporary suspension or simple deactivation is not used as a substitute for deletion.

That is a statement from ManoYatra’s own policy, not an independent audit. The policy should remain your reference for the exact scope, timing, exceptions, and contact route in force when you submit the request.

If the policy changes after this guide is published, follow the current policy rather than an older summary. Material policy changes should appear on the policy page with an updated effective date.

Delete Account, Incognito, and uninstalling are not the same

These controls solve different problems.

ActionWhat it is forWhat to verify
Delete AccountRequest removal of the account and associated data covered by the policyConfirmation received and stated completion window
IncognitoHave a conversation that the current App Store description says is never savedIncognito is active before you begin
Delete an entryRemove a journal or recorded item you no longer wantThe item no longer appears in your history
Uninstall the appRemove ManoYatra from one deviceYour account may still exist unless you requested deletion

Incognito is useful when you want a conversation not to be saved in the first place. Account deletion is broader: it addresses the account and associated stored data. Uninstalling is only a device action.

Why both app stores expect a deletion path

Apple and Google regard account deletion as a user-control requirement, not an optional support favour.

Measured — Apple developer requirement, checked 22 August 2026: Apple says apps that support account creation have had to let users initiate account deletion inside the app since 30 June 2022. Apple’s design guidance also says people should be told when full deletion takes time and what to expect during the process.

Measured — Google Play policy, checked 22 August 2026: Google says an app that allows account creation must offer an in-app deletion path and an external web resource for deletion requests. Google also distinguishes deletion from freezing or deactivation and requires necessary retention practices to be disclosed.

These platform rules explain why a clear in-app option and a working contact route matter. They do not independently verify whether a particular request was completed. Your confirmation and the current privacy policy remain the practical evidence for your own request.

What to do before you confirm deletion

A permanent action deserves a short check, especially if you have journal entries or plans you may want later.

  • Review saved entries — note anything you want to retain outside the app.
  • Check the correct account — confirm the signed-in email or profile belongs to you.
  • Review subscriptions separately — account deletion and store billing can be separate processes.
  • Keep proof of the request — save the confirmation screen or support email.
  • Read the current policy — deletion scope and retention language can change.
  • Avoid sending sensitive details by email — provide only what support needs to identify the request securely.

If you have an App Store subscription, manage or cancel it through your Apple account settings. For current plan context, see the ManoYatra pricing guide and verify the final store checkout before making a billing decision.

If the in-app deletion option does not work

Use the support route stated in the privacy policy: care@manoyatra.com. Write from the email connected to your account where possible, say that you want the ManoYatra account and associated data deleted, and include the date you attempted the in-app flow.

Do not email journal text, conversation excerpts, passwords, one-time codes, or payment details. Support may need to verify that the request belongs to the account holder, but verification should not require you to disclose the content you are asking to erase.

A concise request can say:

Please delete my ManoYatra account and the associated personal data covered by the current privacy policy. I attempted the in-app Delete Account option on [date]. Please confirm receipt and completion.

Replace the bracketed date before sending. Keep the reply until the request is complete.

How Indian data-erasure law fits into the picture

The Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023 contains a right to correction and erasure of personal data. The Digital Personal Data Protection Rules, 2025 and the official commencement notification phase different provisions in over time.

That timing matters. Do not assume every section is already operational solely because the Act and Rules have been published. For a personal request, start with the app’s current deletion route and privacy policy. If you need a legal interpretation about an unresolved dispute, use qualified advice rather than a blog summary.

ManoYatra describes its approach as DPDP-aligned. That is not a certification. The useful question is practical: can you find the deletion route, understand the scope, receive confirmation, and follow up through a named contact?

A simple deletion record to keep

A small record makes follow-up easier without storing the content you wanted removed.

  • Date and local time of the request
  • Account email or masked identifier
  • Route used: in-app or email
  • Confirmation reference, if supplied
  • Policy version or effective date you read
  • Follow-up date based on the stated window
  • Final confirmation date

Store this record somewhere you control. It should document the request, not reproduce private journal or conversation content.

The privacy decision in one minute

Use Incognito when you do not want a conversation saved. Delete individual entries when only certain records should go. Delete the account when you want the account and associated data covered by the policy removed. Uninstalling alone is not the same request.

The best privacy control is one you can find, understand, and verify. Start with the in-app Delete Account option, read the current privacy and data-handling terms, and keep the confirmation until the stated process is complete.
