This is the only church in Old Goa, which is not plastered on the outside, the lime plaster having been stripped off by a zealous Portuguese conservationist in 1950. This magnificent edifice stands as a superb example of Baroque architecture in Goa. The church is called Bom Jesus meaning 'good Jesus' or 'infant Jesus' to whom it is dedicated. The façade has on it, at the top, the letters, 'HIS' which are the first three letters of Jesus in Greek. The three-storeyed facade of the Church shows Ionic, Doric and Corinthian Orders, and has a main entrance flanked by two smaller ones, each having Corinthian columns supporting a pediment. There are two chapels, a main altar and a sacristy besides a choir inside the Church itself. There is a belfry is at the back. Hilltop

Hill Top is Goa's iconic party destination and the place to be for all trance aficionados! People from across the globe convene in this neon palm grove for its legendary psychedelic parties. Sundays are a weekly event here, albeit strict 5pm to 10pm affairs, with international DJs playing the pulsing beats of Goa psy-trance to a mixed global crowd of Goa's residential global urban nomads and old school hippies to student backpackers and international tourists. On Christmas, New Years and other occasional events, Hilltop hosts special raves, where the numbers multiply to the thousands, and the parties last for more than 24 hours.

  • Anjuna Flea Market

    Anjuna Flea Market

The Anjuna Flea market on Wednesday is the queen of hippie flea markets. Rumor says it was started by the father hippie himself “eight finger Eddie” in 1975. Some will say it traced back further. It offers many things, right from fruits to clothes and accessories to electronic devices. It’s a favourite hangout among hippies and backbackers, among others. While you can find really unique items at this market, give your best shot at bargaining, coz you can avail some great deals! The Anjuna Flea market’s vendors now are a nice mix between hippie expats and fun indian stalls. The expats/foreigners usually sell handmade clothing, jewelry, or do something for you like piercings and dreadlocks. The clothes that the ‘psychadelic’ girls sell have their own look entirely. “psy goa trance” music and clothing are a very unique, freaky fun type. If you’re looking for girly expensive beach clothes check out Ashvem beach boutiques or wait for the Saturday night market.
